First of all, I want to include myself. I'm Flurmimon, a aspiring tile spriter and mapper and still learning making my own tilesets in 3rd Pokemon Generation style, since the 3rd gen is my favourite one. Besides tiling I'm learning to sprite and making my own art.
I'm also a big fan of Digimon (especially Frontier), Sonic the Hedgehog, Bionicle, Ninjago, Kamen Rider (Heisei era mostly), Ultraman and some other animes, series and games. I also like Kingdom Hearts (until Re:Mind) and some Final Fantasy games (4, 5 and 9, but overall I'm open).
I like to speculate theories and talking about mythology (I also like science fiction) and my love to Pokemon and Digimon.

No problem. I like the idea of having a Tactimon fighting for the good guys, even if he's in a lesser form.
This comment came right on the day I was considering dropping my Redeemed Tactimon Au...something tells me I have to finish that episode now. 😅
I'm honestly surprised that the showwriters didn't redeem Tactimon or even include him more in Season 2. Though considering that they had to juggle 8 new characters in the Dark/Death Generals as well as Lord Bagra and Axeknightmon, makes sense that Tactimon didn't appear. A lot of the episodes felt as if they could have had more time to develop the plot and/or themes more fully.
There are too many things wasted in Xros Wars in general. Too many interesting ideas, but not fleshed out properly. Even I have no idea why the focus had suddenly shifted to the Death Generals mid-season despite finding some ideas interesting like Splashmon in general or the Whispered virus inside Apollomon.
Your idea with a Tactimon seeking redemption sound good.
Maybe you can try the Xros Wars manga [link]. It takes the first half of Xros Wars in different ways and interprets somethings so different, it's their own entity. Also, in there Tactimon's sword got fully unleashed and that's terrifying.
The Sword of Storms (originally named the Jatetsufuujinmaru) was forged from the data of Susanoomon's ZERO-ARMS: Orochi (no idea how, but this got me interested for this manga, but there's not explained how) and given I have a private story about a Tactimon had an Okunimon (an OC Digimon of mine) as a student before that said student evolved into a Susanoomon... This relationship was inspired from the fact about the Sword of Storms and UlForceV-Dramon (yep, THAT Zeromaru from V-Tamer 01!) in the Xros Wars manga having a Spadamon as a student. Because of this, I cannot see Tactimon the same way as in the beginning of Xros Wars anymore and appreach any idea of a redeemed XW!Tactimon or a Tactimon fighting for the good side. 😂
